Smile Smile came to me looking for a way to get people interested and excited (even if they weren't already existing fans) for the release of their new record Marry a Stranger. This was my first opportunity to use video for a promotional medium. I decided that the demographic that they were trying to reach is into short films and documentaries, as well as inside looks on the bands they love, follow and listen too. So over the course of the months to come - I followed them around and became a fly on the wall. After editing what we felt like were key essential points, I released this video on all of their social media extensions 1 month before the record released. The months to follow would only tell the results. Spikes in their twitter follows and Facebook like, as well as a jump in sales in the new record, far exceeding the last release.
